EpicTuner 0.8.16

EpicTuner 0.8.16 - VVT Configuration & PID shows all three panels again: Configuration (solenoid pins, PWM frequency, activation) was collapsed to a sliver and Exhaust PID lost its labels. Any settings dialog with side panels lays out the same way. - Squeezed setting rows keep their labels readable; the value box narrows first.

EpicTuner 0.8.15

EpicTuner 0.8.15 - Settings dropdowns no longer list "INVALID" entries (pins or values the ECU board does not have), matching TunerStudio.

RELEASED / 2026-10-02

EpicTuner 0.8.14

EpicTuner 0.8.14 - Live graphs no longer slow the app down: smooth with several graphs open, however long they run, including on computers without a strong GPU. - Live graph autoscale only expands until you press Clear, so the traces stay steady. - Live graph "Seen max/min" labels update live again.

RELEASED / 2026-09-28

EpicTuner 0.8.13

EpicTuner 0.8.13 - Rebin: set a start and end for the RPM and load axes and spread the breakpoints evenly. - Table differences always show both tables side by side.

RELEASED / 2026-09-28

EpicTuner 0.8.12

EpicTuner 0.8.12 - Tune Differences, MSQ Import and Restore Points show real tables, paged, with higher values in red and lower in blue. - MSQ Import and Restore Points let you pick which tables and values to apply. - Read-only ECU values no longer count as tune differences. - Projects keep their INI as mainController.ini, so copying the project folder shares the whole tune. - Dialogs and live values are much faster (settings lookups no longer scan every field).

RELEASED / 2026-09-26

EpicTuner 0.8.11

EpicTuner 0.8.11 - Curve tables show which points the live value is using. - Curve tables support selecting several cells (Shift+click, drag, Shift+arrows, Ctrl+A). - Typing a value with several cells selected sets all of them, in curves and tables. - Curves: "/" interpolates the selection, "<" and ">" step it.

RELEASED / 2026-09-25

EpicTuner 0.8.10

EpicTuner 0.8.10 - Typing a number or "." into a table cell starts editing it. - Clicking away from a cell being edited now saves the value instead of leaving the editor open. - The cell editor now sits exactly over its cell. - Increment is now ">" only, since "." starts a decimal entry.

RELEASED / 2026-09-25

EpicTuner 0.8.9

EpicTuner 0.8.9 - Tables shrink to fit the screen (a full 32x32 table fits 1920x1080). - The table grid follows the live crosshair and the selected cell, so neither scrolls out of view. - Table corner labels show the real axis name instead of the raw INI expression. - 3D tables are editable: click or use the arrow keys to select, with the same keys, toolbar and right-click menu as the grid. - 3D view shows the selected cell and its neighbours' values, plus the live operating point. - 3D view honors Flip X/Y and Invert X/Y; orientation changes also update tables inside dialogs.

EpicTuner 0.8.8

EpicTuner 0.8.8 Smoother UI while connected - Fixed UI lag, hitching and freezing while receiving ECU data, most noticeable on the Input/output report and Trigger pages. - Live ECU data now updates only the values shown on screen. Pages, labels and dialog layouts are built once when you open them instead of being refreshed with every data sample. - Dialogs whose visibility depends on live channels still update, at a steady rate that no longer competes with scrolling and typing. - Dashboard indicators and gauges do much less work per update, and widgets on hidden pages no longer refresh in the background. - The Input/output report no longer redraws continuously after opening, which used significant CPU/GPU time on high refresh rate displays. - Scrolling the Input/output report is smooth even with every pin assigned. Validated against a live TunerStudio-protocol simulator on Windows, with a new automated responsiveness check covering the dashboard, Input/output report and Trigger pages. Available for Windows x64 and Linux x64. The Plugin SDK remains 1.0.0-pre.3 with unchanged C ABI 1.1.

EpicTuner 0.8.7

EpicTuner 0.8.7 Input/output report responsiveness - Large performance increase on larger pages, especially the Input/output report with many assigned pins. - Fixed excessive refresh work that could make the Input/output report unresponsive while receiving ECU data. - Report dropdowns retain their appearance and contain only the currently assigned pin. Editable configuration dropdowns still contain all available choices. - Dialog change comparison now runs in C++. Unchanged controls stay in place instead of repeatedly processing the entire report in JavaScript. - Static labels no longer refresh with every telemetry sample, and read-only pin rows no longer create unused editing controls. - The report creates controls only for rows near the visible area, eliminating the startup stall when many pins are assigned. - Pin changes, assigned/unassigned visibility, scrolling, and embedded and popout views continue to update correctly. Validated with large, fully populated reports and simulated live updates on Windows and Linux. Available for Windows x64 and Linux x64. The Plugin SDK remains 1.0.0-pre.3 with unchanged C ABI 1.1.

EpicTuner 0.8.6

EpicTuner 0.8.6 Reconnect after ECU firmware changes - A mismatched firmware signature now pauses reconnect attempts and offers Work Offline or Select Matching Definition. - Find a matching definition locally, download it when available, or select an INI manually, then choose Replace Definition & Reconnect. - Replacement backs up the project, original INI and current tune as a self-contained offline project. Compatible tune values migrate to the new definition; reconnecting compares tunes before any tune is written. - The replacement definition and offline choice persist when the project is reopened. Late connection results from a previous project are ignored. Reuse saved ECU definitions - Definition lookup checks EpicTuner's cache, then the current user's .efiAnalytics/TunerStudio/config/ecuDef folder and its subfolders, before checking online. - TunerStudio definitions are matched by their firmware signature, not their filename. Matching files are copied into EpicTuner's cache without modifying the originals. - Confirmed manually selected INIs are also cached for future projects. Invalid or mismatched definitions are rejected. Firmware updates inside EpicTuner - A verified firmware update installs and caches its matching INI using the same backup and migration flow. - Updated projects retain the new definition after reopening. Failed or unverified flashes retain the previous INI. Available for Windows x64 and Linux x64. The Plugin SDK remains 1.0.0-pre.3 with unchanged C ABI 1.1. Physical ECU firmware-update validation remains separate from the automated TCP and simulated DFU checks.

EpicTuner 0.8.5

EpicTuner 0.8.5 Predefined gauges now replace the widget's units along with its channel and range. Switching coolant temperature to fuel duty cycle displays % instead of keeping C, and unitless presets clear old units. The change persists when the dashboard is reopened. Plugin diagnostics now identify UI operations, requests, panels, affected controls/properties and named result codes. Revision conflicts report submitted/current revisions and the latest change, with guidance for asynchronous updates. Dependent cancellations retain the original failure context; local limits and timeouts explain their cause. The Plugins window adds timestamped severity labels and Copy diagnostics. The separate SDK 1.0.0-pre.3 adds completion logging helpers, updated starter examples, troubleshooting guidance and a refreshed downloadable Markdown manual. Existing C ABI 1.1 plugins remain compatible. Legitimate conflicts from newer user input remain protected.

EpicTuner 0.8.4

EpicTuner 0.8.4 Completes the SDK dropdown-ordering correction for plugins using the default origin value (0). Status/render patches followed by dropdown-option patches from the same event now apply in order with either the event origin or the SDK default. Each patch remains atomic. Failed predecessors cancel dependent patches, and intervening user edits still cause a conflict instead of being overwritten. Includes the 0.8.3 plugin fixes: dynamically populated empty dropdowns, explicit selected-index/autoselect helpers, actionable patch and startup diagnostics, dropdown popup containment, and empty preview guidance. SDK 1.0.0-pre.2 includes the Make/Model/Tune example, a 2x12 table preview, corrected telemetry/log-analyzer selection handling, and expanded development documentation. The SDK ABI is unchanged. Windows and Linux x64 stable downloads and platform-specific update feeds are available. Linux AppImage and Debian packages require glibc 2.43 or newer and support Wayland and X11. ARM64 remains pending. Latest Windows download aliases and version/checksum metadata support firmware-package integration.

EpicTuner 0.8.3

EpicTuner 0.8.3 Improves plugin authoring and diagnostics alongside SDK 1.0.0-pre.2: empty dropdowns can be populated dynamically; rejected UI operations identify their panel, node and property; startup failures include the actual result and last service or named plugin step. Dropdown popups stay within the window, and empty table previews show a clear placeholder. Atomic patch semantics and existing plugin ABI values remain compatible. Successive patches from one UI event now apply in order, allowing a status/render patch before dropdown options. The SDK includes selected-index helpers and a Make/Model/Tune example with autoselect and a 2x12 preview. Linux x64 is now available as an AppImage and Debian package, requiring glibc 2.43 or newer. Windows and Linux AppImage have platform-specific stable updater feeds. Debian installations update through the .deb package. Linux ARM64 remains pending. The updater feed address now opens an explanatory web page. Permanent latest Windows download URLs and version/hash metadata are available for packaging tools. Includes the connection-first ECU project wizard and the choice to update now or when EpicTuner closes, with saved-tune/disconnected-ECU safety checks.

EpicTuner 0.8.2

EpicTuner 0.8.2 Update notifications now let you choose when to install: Update now installs and restarts EpicTuner; Update when I close EpicTuner installs on exit without reopening. Automatic background downloads notify you instead of restarting unexpectedly. Both choices preserve the saved-tune, disconnected-ECU and idle-operation checks. Scheduled updates can be canceled, and notifications can be deferred to next launch. Includes the 0.8.1 connection-first new-project workflow, serial and TCP/IP ECU identification, and matching definition downloads when available. Available through the stable Windows updater. Linux packages remain private tests.

RELEASED / 2026-09-24

EpicTuner 0.8.1

EpicTuner 0.8.1 New projects now configure the connection before selecting an ECU definition. Choose USB / serial or TCP/IP, connect and identify the ECU, then use a matching cached definition, download one when available, or select the firmware's INI. Definition downloads are checked against the detected firmware signature. Offline project creation and the built-in simulator remain available. Fixes also include portable restore-point ordering and Linux font fallbacks. Adds an optional automatic download/install mode in Settings > Updates. Updates download in the background and wait until the tune is saved, the ECU is disconnected and active operations finish before installing and restarting. Existing update-check preferences are preserved; enable automatic installation separately. Version 0.8.0 requires its existing Install action for this first upgrade. Available through the stable Windows updater. Linux packages remain private test builds.
